*Pro Tools LE 7.1 software (sold separately) and DV Toolkit 2 iLok authorization are required for these features. Customers who do not already own Pro Tools LE 7.0 will need to purchase an upgrade before installing DV Toolkit 2. 96 kHz record and playback requires 96 kHz–capable Digidesign hardware (Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack)

System Requirements

  • iLok USB Smart Key (sold separately), Internet access, and free ilok.com account for authorization
  • Digidesign-qualified Windows XP– or Mac-based computer
  • Pro Tools LE 7.1 or higher software for Windows XP or Mac OS X for PPC
  • Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 or higher software for Mac OS X for Intel

If you do not already own Pro Tools LE 7, you will need to purchase an upgrade before installing DV Toolkit 2. DV Toolkit 2 includes an update from Pro Tools LE 7.0 to Pro Tools LE 7.1 software.

The original DV Toolkit is not supported with Pro Tools LE 7.1 or higher software. Upgrades from DV Toolkit to DV Toolkit 2 are available on the DigiStore.

Maximum Track Count Information

The purchase of the DV Toolkit 2 option expands a Pro Tools LE system from 32 total voiceable tracks to up to 48 mono or 48 stereo tracks at up to 96 kHz (interface permitting*). In order to reliably achieve maximum track count, Digidesign recommends the following:

Mac OS X for PPC

  • Digidesign-Qualified Power Mac G5 Dual Processor 2GHz or higher, including Power Mac G5 Quad
    • Power Mac G5 Dual 2GHz (first generation model M9032) may not achieve maximum track count
  • 1.5 GB total system RAM or more with Mac OS X for PPC
  • 2 or more hard drives dedicated for audio record and playback:
    • 2 internal SATA drives
    • 2 external SCSI drives & qualified SCSI HBA
    • 2 or more external FireWire drives

Mac OS X for Intel

  • Digidesign-Qualified Intel-based Mac with Intel Core Duo processor
    • Intel-based iMac, Mac mini, or MacBook Pro
    • Recently released MacBook testing in progress, not yet qualified
  • 1.5 GB total system RAM or more with Mac OS X for Intel
  • 2 or more hard drives dedicated for audio record and playback:
    • 2 or more external FireWire drives

Windows XP

  • 2GHz or higher processor
  • 1 GB total system RAM or more
  • 2 or more hard drives dedicated for audio record and playback:
    • 1 internal IDE/ATA and 1 internal SATA drive
    • 2 internal SATA drives
    • 2 SCSI drives
    • 2 or more external FireWire drives

*Maximum Sample Rate

  • Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack - 96 kHz
  • Mbox 2, Mbox - 48 kHz
