Digidesign CoreAudio Driver version 6.1.2 is compatible with Pro Tools 6.2 and 6.2r2 (install Pro Tools before installing CoreAudio)

The Pro Tools 6.2.3 full installer and 6.2.3 web update installer both include the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver as an install option. (Pro Tools 6.2.3 installation required to use the included CoreAudio driver)

Supported CPU Models & Requirements

G4 Desktops - PCI vs. AGP Graphics Support

Pro Tools 6 TDM systems are not supported with G4 PCI graphics models, only the G4 AGP graphics models. All G3 and older models are also not supported.

G4 PowerBook CardBus PCI Expansion

Dual Processor Support

Pro Tools 6 is fully compatible with Apple dual-processor G4 models, "Quicksilver" and up, running OS X. There is no need to install any additional software. Dual-processor users will experience increased performance over the single-processor CPUs. See Power Macintosh G4 (AGP graphics) for details on supported CPUs.

More RAM increases overall system and Pro Tools performance

OS X does not require minimum or preferred RAM settings for Pro Tools as RAM is dynamically allocated

  • Apple QuickTime v6.0.2 or higher required
