MIX Core & Farm: Maximum of 7 MIX Farm or MIX Core cards supported. DSP Farm: Check for incompatibility with older DSP Farms and Apple G4 computers. A rev "QC" or later of the AMCC chip is required for G4 compatibility. This revision number appears on the AMCC chip following number "5933". Older versions can cause your computer to hang while booting or when launching Pro Tools or DigiTest. QC or higher chip is required for compatibility with the PCI 2.1 specification introduced with the Apple Blue & White G3 and later models. Ways to identify these boards are in the grid below:

Board
S/N's Below
Manufactured Before
Board Rev Before
DSP Farm I

7/9/97
Rev H

If a customer has previously updated their board (or received a refurbished card), the serial number will remain the same, but the board rev will be updated (and the AMCC chip will have "QC" or later). Cards with the rev "Q" chip can be upgraded for G4 compatibility. Please contact your local Digidesign office using the following procedure:

Some plug-ins require MIX chips and are not compatible when instantiated on DSP farms.

MIX I/O: The MIX I/O was not tested with the Pro Tools 6.4.1 release. In previous releases, a maximum of 2 MIX I/O cards could be used in any configuration.

d24: "Hybrid" configurations which use the original Pro Tools|24 d24 card in combination with a MIX card have not been tested, and therefore are not supported. However, we have no reason to believe that it will not work. The d24 card does not support the Surround Mixer.

Pro Tools|24 MIX systems are not compatible with Power Mac G5
