Pro Tools for Macintosh Systems — Avid Unity MediaNetwork Hardware Requirements
With Pro Tools 5.1.3 & 5.3.1 on Mac OS 9
Avid Unity MediaNetwork is not supported with Pro Tools for Mac OS X.
Pro Tools Systems
Avid Unity MediaNetwork is supported by Pro Tools|HD systems with Pro Tools 5.3.1 software for Mac OS 9 and Pro Tools|24 MIX systems with Pro Tools 5.1.3 software for Mac OS 9 running only on the following hardware. The Pro Tools|24 d24 card, DSP Farm card and older TDM hardware are not supported. Pro Tools LE systems (Digi 002, Digi 002Rack, Digi 001, Mbox and Audiomedia III hardware) are also not supported.
Expansion Chassis
For slot order using AVoption|XL with Avid Unity MediaNetwork and the Digidesign 13-slot or Magma 13-slot chassis, please refer to the Pro Tools Unity Client Configuration for Macintosh Systems

The Apple
Single Processor 1 GHz, Dual 1.25 GHz, and Dual 1.42 GHz Power Mac G4
"FW800" FireWire 800 models from 2003 will only boot with OS
X as the startup system. Pro Tools 5.x will not work with Mac OS X or
in "Classic" mode when booted in OS X, so these computers cannot
be used with Pro Tools 5.x for Mac OS 9.
System RAM — Pro Tools|HD Systems
- 384 MB minimum, 512 MB recommended
- Pro Tools application "Preferred Size" memory allocation set to 300 MB
- Do not change the "Minimum Size"
- DAE is no longer an independent application, and therefore requires no additional RAM
- Virtual memory is not supported
System RAM — Pro Tools|24 MIX Systems
- 384 MB minimum, 512 MB recommended
- Pro Tools application "Preferred Size" memory allocation set to 300 MB (do not change the "Minimum Size")
- DAE "Preferred Size" memory allocation set to 100 MB
- Virtual memory is not supported
