Pro Tools TDM Windows Requirements For IDE/ATA Hard
Drives
Up to 32 track, 24 bit, 48 KHz performance from one dedicated internal
IDE/ATA audio drive is supported.
Drives must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Drive Requirements

Disk drive rotational speed: minimum 7200 RPM

Average seek time of less than 10.0 ms

Support of the ATA100 or higher UDMA66 controller

Each IDE drive must have DMA enabled in the "System" Control Panel.
This can be changed in the "Settings" of each IDE drive on the "Device
Manager" tab of the "System" Control Panel. For

Drive must be dedicated for audio. (boot drives may also be used
for some audio tracks, however performance/track count may be considerably
less than when using a dedicated drive)

Drives should be formatted with Windows disk administration without
Dynamic Disk selected

Windows XP file system: FAT32 or NTFS

Mac HFS+ supported for transfer only when used with MacDrive

Pro Tools does not support RAID technology. Please do not activate
this feature
Drive Space Required

Mono, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz audio requires approximately 5 MB/minute
disk space

Mono, 24-bit, 44.1 kHz audio requires approximately 7.5 MB/minute
disk space
Note: Pro Tools has a single audio file
size limit of 2048MB, regardless of operating system used. This equates
to about 4.5 hours at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz.
