Pro Tools M-Powered Software Compatibility

- Pro Tools M-Powered software requires one of the above M-Audio hardware devices
- Other audio interfaces from M-Audio, Digidesign, or other manufacturers will not work with Pro Tools M-Powered software
- Pro Tools M-Powered supports the use of any single supported M-Audio peripheral. Simultaneous use of multiple M-Audio peripherals is not supported.

Control Surfaces & MIDI Interfaces
Note: Pro Tools M-Powered software does not support Digidesign Ethernet control surfaces, such as Control|24, ProControl, ICON D-Control, or ICON D-Command.
Video Options
The following options are not available for Pro Tools M-Powered:
- Support for DV Toolkit software
- Support for DigiTranslator software
- Support for Avid video peripherals
Apple QuickTime 6.5 or Higher Recommended
- Available at www.apple.com/quicktime
- Required only on systems using video
- AGP graphics card with 16 MB or more video RAM required for movie playback
- Known Issue: Apple QuickTime 7 is currently not supported with the Digidesign WaveDriver on Windows XP
FireWire Connections
- A 1394 ("FireWire") controller/interface is required to connect an M-Audio FireWire interface to your computer. Some computers have built-in 1394/FireWire controllers, while other computers require an add-in 1394/FireWire controller card (purchased separately)
- Some built-in 1394/FireWire ports may be incompatible with Pro Tools. if you experience FireWire-related issues or errors when using the built-in 1394/FireWire ports on your computer, Digidesign recommends installing a Digidesign-Qualified 1394/FireWire card.
Performance Guidelines
- Recording to the system startup drive is not recommended
- One or more separate internal or external dedicated audio hard drive(s) is highly recommended for maximum performance and track count. (see Hard Drive
Minimum Requirements)
- Although limited recording and playback of audio tracks may
be possible using the internal drive in laptop models, a separate
external dedicated audio hard drive is highly recommended for
maximum performance and track count. Digidesign recommends the
use of FireWire drives for use with these computers.
Known Incompatibilities
- Pentium 4 or Xeon systems with HyperThreading technology must have "Intel HyperThreading" in the system BIOS disabled in Pro Tools 6.x
- This is no longer required in Pro Tools 7.0, which supports HyperThreading
Windows XP SP2, Microsoft DEP and PACE InterLok Drivers Update
- if you encounter unexplained blue screens, freezes or spontaneous reboots when launching Pro Tools with Windows XP Service Pack 2, please update your PACE InterLok drivers:
- The current InterLok drivers solve the described problems without having to disable Microsoft's DEP (Data Execution Prevention) feature introduced with Windows XP Service Pack 2.

To download driver updates from the M-Audio website:
- Go to the Support-> Drivers section on the M-Audio website
- On the right, under Drivers Search, Select Product
- Check the box next to "Show Beta Drivers" to show all drivers
- Click SUBMIT
