Pro Tools TDM 6.9.3r2 Update

All D-Control and D-Command users with XMON firmware version 10 need to run the XMON firmware updater included with this release. The updater is run from the D-Control or D-Command Main Unit Utility mode (see included instructions)

An update for Pro Tools 7 HD users on Mac OS X and Windows XP with this new firmware update is expected in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you will need to use Pro Tools 6.9.3r2 on either Mac OS X or Windows XP to update the XMON firmware.

This Pro Tools TDM 6.9.3r2 update requires a Pro Tools|HD or Pro Tools|HD Accel hardware system with Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 or 6.9.3 software for Mac OS X 10.4 ("Tiger") already installed:

• Support of 23 Sonant Mark Embedded Japanese Katakana Characters: Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go, Za, Zi, Zu, Ze, Zo, Da, Di, Du, Do, Bi, Bu, Be, Bo, Pa, Pi, Pu, Pe, Po
• "De" and "Ba" were already supported in the previous release

Who Should Use Pro Tools 6.2r2?

This update should be used only by:

• ICON system users who want to display the 23 Katakana characters on their D-Control main unit and Fader Modules.

This change affects Japanese characters only. Other languages are not affected.

Installation:

1. Download and open using Stuffit Expander on Mac, or unzip on Windows XP
2. Double-click the file named "Install D-Control 6.7r2" on Mac, or "D-Control 6.7 R2 Setup.exe" on Windows XP
3. Follow the prompts

DAE 6.7b is for ICON D-Control
Rotary Encoder Performance Update

Included on the Pro Tools TDM 6.7 CD in the Additional Files->Unsupported Software folder. From the included Read Me document with installation instructions:

• DAE 6.7b is for ICON D-Control console users who experience diminished performance when using rotary controls with some plug-ins (including Smack!). This version of DAE optimizes the way rotary control value updates are handled by DAE so that plug-in parameter changes remains fluid and responsive.

This optimization was developed late in the development of Pro Tools 6.7 and is being released as a beta until more test coverage can occur. DAE 6.7b is provided as an interim release to address the issues described. While our testing has not shown these changes introduce other problems, this version has not been fully qualified by Digidesign.

Note to users: Please don’t download the v3.02 D-Control firmware from the PT 6.4 CD when asked. Version 3.10 is the most current D-Control firmware version available and should be used in all cases. The v3.10 firmware provided here is included for system restore purposes only – there is no need to install it during initial D-Control set-up.
