USD Firmware Update for Pro Tools|24 MIX Systems with Pro Tools 6.4.1

There is no need to download from the web. The Pro Tools 6.4.1 installer applicatons on the web installers and the 6.4.1 CDs all include the current firmware for the USD. The firmware is installed in the Digidesign\Pro Tools\ Pro Tools Utilities folder.

This firmware update fixes the following:

• Corrected an arithmetic overflow problem which manifested itself as a momentary loss of resolver synchronization. This could cause secondary effects such as momentary stoppage of the timecode generator for a few frames and/or causing Pro Tools to abort a chased recording or playback.

Pro Tools is not required to use this application. To update the USD firmware to v5.0.3 using a Windows computer

You will need a serial cable between a serial port (COM1, COM2, or COM3) and the DB-25 serial connector on the back of a USD. The exact cable needed is a commodity item known as a DB-9F to DB-25M modem cable. Note: This program will not update a USD connected to a Digidesign PCI card. You must connect the USD directly to your computer's COM port.

Note: There is no USD Setup application on Windows for USD Firmware v5.0.3
