Mac OS 9.2.2 Required

- OS X is not supported with Pro Tools 5.x
- Classic Mode under OS X is also not supported, you must choose Mac OS 9.2.2 as your startup system either in your Startup Disk Control Panel or by holding down the Option key during startup to use Pro Tools 5.x
External Diskette Drive
Although not required with Pro Tools installation, a Digidesign-qualified external diskette drive may be required for installation of some plug-ins and optional software applications.
Hard Drives — Audio Storage Requirements
Although limited recording and playback of audio tracks may be possible using the internal drive in the PowerBook, a separate dedicated audio hard drive is highly recommended for maximum performance and track count.
