Fixes in Bomb Factory Plug-Ins Version 4.2 (Mac & Windows)

Fixed: Avid Compatibility

  • Bomb Factory AudioSuite plug-ins are now compatible with Avid software that supports the AudioSuite plug-in format. Supported Avid systems include Avid Xpress DV, Avid Xpress Pro software, and all Avid DNA systems.

Fixes in Bomb Factory Plug-Ins Version 4.1.2 (Windows XP Only)

Fixed: Bomb Factory 4.1.1 Control Surface Support (Windows XP Only)

  • All retail and bundled Windows Bomb Factory plug-ins version 4.1.1 did not contain support for Digidesign ICON and Command|8 control surfaces. Windows Free Bomb Factory plug-ins and Macintosh Bomb Factory plug-ins were unaffected.

Fixed: Bomb Factory 4.1 Plug-Ins Expiration Removed

  • All Macintosh and Windows Bomb Factory plug-ins version 4.1 were inadvertently set to expire on July 17th, 2004. Bomb Factory 4.1.1 plug-ins have no expiration date.

All Digidesign Bomb Bomb Factory Plug-ins Version 4.2 and higher support Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools|HD Accel, Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, and Mbox systems with Pro Tools TDM and LE 6.0 and higher installed on Mac OS X and Windows XP

  • Pro Tools TDM 6.x with Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel systems — up to 192k sample rates
  • Pro Tools TDM 6.x with Pro Tools|24 and Pro Tools|24 MIX systems — up to 48k sample rates
  • Pro Tools LE 6.x with Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack systems — up to 96k sample rates
  • Pro Tools LE 6.x with Mbox, Digi 001 and Audiomedia III systems — up to 48k sample rates

All Digidesign Bomb Factory version 4.0 through version 4.1.1 plug-ins will work on systems with Pro Tools TDM and LE 6.0 and higher installed on Mac OS X and Windows XP

  • Pro Tools TDM 6.x with Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel systems — up to 192k sample rates
  • Pro Tools TDM 6.x with Pro Tools|24 and Pro Tools|24 MIX systems — up to 48k sample rates (see link below for version 4.1.1 plug-ins for MIX systems)
  • Pro Tools LE 6.x with Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack systems — up to 96k sample rates
  • Pro Tools LE 6.x with Mbox, Digi 001 and Audiomedia III systems — up to 48k sample rates

All Digidesign Bomb Factory version 4.0 and higher plug-ins include the following Pro Tools plug-in formats:

  • TDM - requires a Pro Tools TDM system
  • RTAS - on all Pro Tools LE and TDM systems
  • AudioSuite - on all Pro Tools LE and TDM systems

Installation

  • Download the correct plug-in for your operating system
  • Each download is a self-contained installer
  • Note that some bundle installers have multiple plug-ins. You may own one of the plug-ins, but not others in the bundle. For instance, the legacy Bomb Factory Classic Compressors contained the LA2A and 1176 plug-ins. That bundle no longer exists. The current Digidesign/Bomb Factory Classic Compressors bundle includes the BF-2A and the Purple Audio MC77. The BF-76 is part of the Free Bomb Factory Plug-Ins.

Authorization & Upgrades

Except for the Free Bomb Factory Plug-Ins bundle, all Digidesign/Bomb Factory plug-ins require the Bomb Factory version 4 iLok authorization.

Original registered owners of the legacy Bomb Factory version 1, 2, and 3HD versions of Bomb Factory plug-ins that are also registered for Pro Tools 6 are eligible for free upgrades to version 4 of their plug-ins.

Original registered owners of the Bomb Factory 3 Value Edition (48k) versions of the Bomb Factory plug-ins are eligible to upgrade to version 4. The upgrade price is the difference between the original list price of the Value Edition and the original list price of the HD/192 version of the same plug-ins.

Only the original registered owners of these Bomb Factory legacy plug-ins from the Digidesign or Bomb Factory registration records are eligible for upgrades to the Digidesign/Bomb Factory version 4 licenses. Unregistered owners or purchasers of used versions of these plug-ins are not eligible for upgrades.

Registered owners of Bomb Factory plug-ins that are also registered for Pro Tools 6 can upgrade in the following way:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a free iLok account on iLok.com
  2. Register your iLok USB hardware key (sold separately) on your iLok account
  3. Contact Digidesign Customer Service Administration by phone or email with your iLok.com User ID and information on which registered Bomb Factory plug-ins you own

Unregistered owners of Bomb Factory plug-ins with version 3HD or version 3 Value Edition iLok authorizations can use the Bomb Factory Legacy versions of the plug-ins.

Although the iLok drivers are installed by the Pro Tools installers, we highly recommend that you Download the latest iLok Drivers for compatibility with the most recent plug-in versions, Pro Tools, and your operating system.

  • Download Aladdin's FREE Stuffit Expander for Mac
  • Windows ZIP (.zip) format downloads should be "Saved to Disk" first, rather than opened on the internet. These can be expanded on Windows XP systems by right-clicking on the downloaded files and choosing "Open".
