Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2cs2 Update with updated DigiTest for Pro Tools|HD users with Pro Tools 6.9.2 on Mac OS 10.4

The Pro Tools 6.9.2cs2 update for Mac OS X 10.4 includes the following:

Fixed: Legacy Peripherals Attached to a 192 I/O or a 96 I/O (with Firmware Version 4.3) Would Exhibit Incorrect Gain at Their Inputs (Item # 59048)

• If you have a 192 I/O or 96 I/O, and the interface firmware version is 4.3, you need to run the DigiTest firmware updater. If your 192 I/O or 96 I/O has firmware version 3.0, incorrect input gain on legacy peripherals will not occur, and you will not be able to update the firmware. This does not apply to the 96i, which does not have a legacy port.

To verify and update the firmware version:

1. Launch the DigiTest application
2. Click on the Firmware tab
3. Make sure the peripheral information for the appropriate card slot is being displayed, and press "Rescan" if necessary
4. Do one of the following:
   
   • If the firmware version in the selected peripheral is 4.3, lower the gain on your audio monitors and press "begin update."
   • If the firmware version is 3.0, you have the correct firmware and you do not need to do anything.
   • If the firmware version is less than 3.0, update the firmware to version 3.0. (This is unrelated to the legacy peripheral bug.)

DigiTest 6.2 for 96i audio interface users on Windows XP

Only for 96i audio interface users that are also using Pro Tools 6.4 software for Windows XP with a Pro Tools|HD or Pro Tools|HD Accel system.

Item #47836 - Digitest 6.4 (both English and Japanese versions) does not update 96i I/O firmware. This only ccurs on Windows XP, and only with the 96i audio interface.

• DigiTest 6.2 properly updates the firmware for the 96i audio interface for use with Pro Tools 6.2 or 6.4.
• DigiTest 6.4 (included with Pro Tools 6.4) properly updates the firmware for all other Pro Tools|HD audio interfaces for use with Pro Tools 6.2 or 6.4.

Known Issues

The following section documents known issues you may encounter in using DigiTest.

Quit Pro Tools Before Running DigiTest
In order to run Digitest, you must first quit the Pro Tools application.

DigiTest No Longer Displays Slot Order
With DigiTest 6.0, cards are not necessarily displayed in the order in which they are installed. They are listed in the order in which DigiTest finds them. So the card which appears in the first slot in DigiTest may not be the card in the lowest slot of the CPU. Also, there is no indication whether a card is located in the CPU, or in a chassis. For instructions on how to identify your cards with DigiTest, refer to the Getting Started Guide that came with your Digidesign TDM system.

Crash with Pro Tools d24 and MIX I/O Cards
DigiTest will crash the system if you test a configuration with both a d24 and MIX I/O card, but no peripherals attached. The workaround is to attach a peripheral to either the d24 or the MIX I/O card, or remove one of the cards, test it, then swap cards and retest.

Problems when Testing a TDM Flex Cable on Only One HD Card of a System with Multiple HD Cards
When testing a TDM Flex Cable for only one HD card on a system containing two or more HD cards, it’s possible for the test to report on the other card. The workaround is to remove one of the cards, test it, then swap cards and restart.

DigiTest 6.0 will Sometimes Crash if the Error Message is Exceptionally Long
If you experience a crash of this nature with DigiTest 6.0, use DigiTest 6.0.1b1 above.
