D-Show Console Software Version 2.0.1 Update

For D-Show systems running console software version 2.0.0

June, 2006

From the D-Show 2.0.1 Read Me, included with the downloads:

D-Show 2.0.1 addresses several issues discovered since the release of D-Show version 2.0. In addition, the D-Show 2.0.1 System Restore CD adds software driver support for a new internal MIDI interface which begins shipping with all revision K FOH Racks in June 2006. The revision number is located on a sticker on the side of the FOH Rack.

Any VENUE system, regardless of its FOH Rack revision, can be updated using the D-Show 2.0.1 (or higher) System Restore CD. Customers with revision K or higher FOH Racks must always follow the instructions printed on the D-Show 2.0.1 System Restore CD to perform either an update or full restore, in order to install the new MIDI driver support. Customers with revision J or lower FOH Racks do not need the MIDI driver support and can update their system using a simple Update patch, which is available for download from www.digidesign.com and is also included on the D-Show 2.0.1 System Restore CD.

What's Fixed in D-Show 2.0.1?

Fixed: Settings for Stereo-Linked Matrix or PQ Input Sources Are Not Recalled Correctly after Loading a Show File (Item #75895)

  • After loading a show file, settings for stereo-linked input sources assigned to a Matrix or PQ output were being reset, or the right channel settings were inadvertently being applied to the left channel.

Fixed: Settings for Stereo-Linked Matrix or PQ Input Sources Are Not Recalled Correctly with Snapshots (Item #76463)

  • When a snapshot was recalled, the settings for the right channel of a stereo-linked pair of input sources were inadvertently being applied to the left channel as well.

Fixed: Snapshot Scope Does Not Update Correctly when Channels Are Moved Using a Make Stereo or Move Selected Strip Operation (Item #77673)

  • Channel scope in stored snapshots was not being updated when channels were re-ordered using a Make Stereo or Move Selected Strip operation. As a result, channels might inadvertently be added to, or removed from, the snapshot scope.

Fixed: Stage Rack PSU Voltage-Sensing Threshold Was Set Too Low (Item #77286)

  • The Stage Rack PSU voltage-sensing threshold was set too low, causing false error messages to occur on some systems, including the following: "The Stage Rack has reported a failure, but is now working normally."

Fixed: Stage Rack Fails to Initialize on Power Up (Item #75084)

  • Connected Stage Racks would occasionally fail to initialize properly on system startup and appear as empty racks on the Options > Devices page.

Fixed: Plug-in Processing Delay Was Not Being Reported Correctly (Item #75969)

  • Errors with plug-in processing delay (latency) reporting have now been fixed. The reported values are correctly taken into account when applying delay compensation.

Fixed: Monitor Speakers and Headphones Levels Are Not Always Set Correctly after Loading a Show File or Powering On the System (Item #76689)

  • Levels for the Monitor Speakers and Headphones outputs would occasionally be set incorrectly after loading a show file or at power up, requiring the user to adjust the controls in order to refresh their settings.

Fixed: Plug-ins Are Not Always Removed from Snapshots via the Snapshots Menu on the Plug-ins Page (Item #76975)

  • Plug-ins could sometimes not be removed from a snapshot using the Snapshots pulldown menu (located in the lower righthand corner of each plug-in rack slot).

Fixed: On Startup, a Channel’s Fader Level May Not Reflect the Actual Fader Position (Item #76460)

  • On startup, when a fader was set to –Infinity (minus infinity), the fader gain level could be set incorrectly, causing audio to pass even though the fader is down.

Who should use D-Show 2.0.1?

This update is recommended for all D-Show console users and contains fixes in the following areas:

  • Matrix/PQ
  • Snapshots
  • Plug-ins
  • System initialization
